Very much hoping for the same, as I kind of fell out of my chair when I saw the specs today, but unless the footage delivers, the specs sheet is a bit worthless. Hope to see footage today
I don't know if there will be footage today. Frankly I would be surprised if there is, since it is still many months from camera completion. They said it will ship in "fall", which has usually meant October/November in prior cameras. If they have footage on June 2 for a camera that won't likely see store shelves before October, I would find that unusual and surprising.

I hope that whenever they do release footage, whether today or later in the launch cycle, that they take.the time and effort to do it right. Mitch made his living as an indie film cinematographer for many years so I am optimistic that they will get this right.

At 23:15 GMT -5 I will have finished setting up to livestream a high school graduation ceremony (with DVX200), whilst watching the Panasonic livestream via Facebook. One in, one out. I hope the venue's internet is good :D

Usually demo videos of a new camera are poor but now and then something worthwhile comes. So odds are low something good will come today.

As far as specs go, don't expect anything out of the ordinary. The base standard is set pretty high today so it's easy to be let down when something comes below that. But this camera will be right on the money as far as features goes but image quality is another thing.

Any idea how long into presentation they will take to reveal the specs...could really not care less what they call it...the mount (locking please), built in ND and ergos is what I'm thinking about at this stage (being presumptions with the S35 sensor of course) and hoping for a truly affordable yet pro form of media (no cfast please)...but again only my narrow view of my personal needs

I don't mind a Cfast2 option if there's an SD option, as well. One of the things I don't like about Ursa Mini Pro is you can't dual-codec record, like you can with C200. Technically, I don't need proxy media straight from camera as FCPX does a nifty job of that transcode, but the reason C200 fails for me in that regard is I don't need raw, and though a raw+proxy dual record is nice, I don't need raw, I need 10-bit 422 internal... and then have a proxy dual-recorded from that, maybe. But, having to lug around an external recorded AND those batteries, AND that media, AND those cables, etc, etc, it's just more things to fail or forget during a shoot. I need all internal. UMP gets a lot of that right, but without the dual-codec record. DVX200 does it. I imagine this new camera will, too. Not sure what kind of media slots it'll have, but the inexpensive workflow, to me, sounds like SD and/or Cfast2 cards. Or, again, maybe Panasonic has a new codec up their sleeve, or a new method of utilizing an older codec like AVC-Ultra. No idea. I'm saying it might not be JUST the camera they reveal today. It might be, as might be implied by the teaser marketing material, an entire workflow.

You know absolutely zero about its image quality. Why do you come on here and make such authoritative-sounding statements on subjects which you cannot possibly know about?

Mitch has already outed you that you do not know the facts about this camera. It is unprofessional in the extreme to post your unfounded/incorrect opinion as if it we're fact. So please knock it off.

Just about to get in the air for a few hours. See you all and the new camera on the other side! Expect this thread to be at 1000 posts by then :)

Almost there, mate! Safe travels.

as soon as the embargo is lifted then. Gotta respect the rules of the game hommie

I was joking, since after the reveal, it'd be pointless since we'll know it by then. But YES respect them there rules!

I feel like this is a good ol fashioned slobberknocker between Canon and Panasonic right now. Exciting times!

still if you know the rules, no point to ask :)

I am just gonna say that I am really excited about the new Panasonic *** * and I wish them the best. I really hope this camera is a massive success. It deserves it. It certainly looks like from the numbers on the paper, but I have not seen footage so that's that. But it certainly has some serious potential. A lot of potential.
