EVA1: Panasonic AU-EVA1! Announcement and latest updates

I would wait until all three brands have their new cameras out in the field before jumping in either direction. All of them will be good but with different sets of key features.

Panasonic will probably have the lowest price, Sony with many things stuffed inside and Canon still dragging but with the basic features in place and a known look. As a FS7 owner the one thing that could swing me either way is size. Make them small and keep the features and I'm in.

In my opinion :), I think it's pretty safe to say it won't be a fixed lens camera, since it would compete directly with the DVX200.

Image quality will go well past the competition per price point, except maybe UMP, but I would be making my decision, based also on reliability and support, especially if I was shooting a feature on either...S35 hopefully variable crop sensor with M4/3 pro locking mount...at least 13 stops DR because they can....SSD media and my fantasy...prores internal...my guess has stayed unchanged, and in 1 week all will be revealed... lastly and I guess this is a good place for "in my opinion"...I'm confident the camera will not dissapoint me!

Just a week to go.

We have confirmed the Facebook Live feed. It will be on the Panasonic Pro Video Facebook page. The New Cinema Camera Preview will begin at 4:15 LA time on June 2nd.

For those who are in the LA area but unable to make CineGear, Panasonic will be hosting Demo Days at AbelCine LA on Tuesday, June 6th and at BandPro on Thursday, June 8th. Come get some hands on time with the amazing VariCam LT and check out the New Cinema Camera for yourself.

Are reservations required? Been confirmed on a out-of-town gig during Cine Gear.

Canon's new cinema camera is coming next week at the same time to try and ruin Panasonic's parade.

That's hilarious. Great for we consumers, too. I like both Canon and Panasonic colorimetry. I probably won't care for like Canon's form factor choice, though.

Mitch the new camera will be a working model to touch and feel at this event on June 6th at BandPro?

I'm just kidding about the 'ruining the parade' part though. While it may not be ideal for either manufacturer to share the spot light, it's great for the event.

DLD can't back this one up with his cartel talk this time...all bets are off now, lol.

Not that I know of, but you can contact them both for details. Generally a Demo Day is first come / first serve. I think the hours are 11-2 but there's likely more info on their respective websites. Or just call ahead. I do suspect there will be a lot of people interested in coming in to spend some time outside of the trade show atmosphere. I suggest you come find me early. But it's not like I'm going to slam the door once we hit the scheduled end time.
