...also, it depends on how many posts you elect to show on each page of a thread. To me, this thing is only on Page 35.

Anyway, just like Barry's post (just adding to the rampant titillation...and that's because Mitch hasn't told him anything, either!), this is only distracting from what's really important. And that is:

only 9 more days to go... :D

It should go without saying but I'll say it -- nobody has confirmed anything yet. There has been no official confirmation of anything, other than that it's making "cinema" images and has a "low cost workflow"

The camera making cinema images, arguably its most important task, has definitely not been confirmed yet either.

This thread makes those Nikon/Canon/M43 rumor sites look like the New York Times.

And I am not all that fond of the New York Times either.

Interesting post about the two new cameras from Panasonic and Canon. IMO dual pixel AF is a big selling point for cameras in this price point (despite the protestations from many that they never use it)
Image stabilisation is another. I think it's reasonable to infer the Panasonic will have 10bit internal 4k 4:2:2, the Canon maybe not. But if it does then it could be a serious contender as it's low light capability should be good. Also you will have AF across their entire range of lens and power zooms.
This is another selling point. I'm really hoping Panasonic produces something special with this camera,
time will tell, but it will face tough competition, I hope they get it right.

DPAF is severely underrated, insanely useful and needs to be expanded upon by Canon ASAP. They need to have a camera that allows me way deeper control of how it functions/tracks and reacts, and a non-laggy touchscreen interface for using it. I've been using the 1DX II on a steadycam with only clever DPAF use, to great effect, lately.

A theoretical question to Mitch or other insiders -- is it possible for two third party manufacturers to cooperate to the exclusion of the original OEM? In other words, let's say a company A makes a camera with the EF mounting and a lens manufacturer B makes a lens with EF mounting. Neither is Canon but their products work with each other's better than with any Canon cameras.

This post is nonsense, he has no substantiation, beyond one vague rumor from a Canon rumor site, that the C200 even exists. Of course, I hope it does and I hope Canon is introducing it at Cine Gear but at this point, it's just a vague rumor. I think 10-bit 4:2:2 is a good bet on the Panasonic, simply because of the specs of the GH5, I can't imagine Panasonic would let their much cheaper camera out-spec the much more expensive camera. But I have a feeling that the Panasonic will not include DPAF and will just have focus aids like the LT. Any new Canon EOS C camera will obviously have DPAF, hopefully more developed than the C300 MKIIs DPAF. It may come down to lower video specs in exchange for DPAF on the Canon, versus superior video specs but no DPAF on the Panasonic, who knows? June 2 is going to be interesting to say the least.

Haha yes but a bullet point on a screen is not confirmation. Only the people can decide! Although, I'd take a personal Mitch Gross confirmation very seriously..

Okay, I see what you are saying. But the folks that made the Varicam have put out a notice saying that this product produces "cinematic imagery", so -- it's clearly their intention that it does.

It's almost impossible he's wrong since it's such a broad statement.

Whether they are point-and-shoots or cinema systems - and everything in between - cameras are coming.
