Panasonic AF100 Australia - Price info added

Well I dont expect there to be too much info coming through. Rob has laid pretty much everything out there for us, approx. dates, prices and dealers. If you want one contact one of those stockists and get your pre order in. Good luck all.
 
Videocraft were pretty sure that it would be less than that.

They said final pricing from panasonic should be available in a week or so.

Id also check amber, I think their pricing should be pretty competitive.

Note to Australian sellers right here, I wont be paying $6000 for one when the Aussie Dollar is almost parity with the US. But I also understand that in Aus the turnover of gear is much less than the US. Getting advertised for $4700 at places US. Lets assume then $5100 plus gst. About $5600. Thats what Id expect to pay.
 
Yes I think you are right about $5600. The $6000 was an estimate because at the time (about a week ago) they did not have Australian pricing. When I mentioned the US price they did concede that it may be more like AU $5600.
 
O.K! I just ordered mine from John Barry in South Melbourne and paid my deposit.

Got a great price, best I could find, (think more like B&H price + GST), but Andrew did tell me that Panasonic are saying they probably have more orders than they'll get stock, so it could be late January instead of around Christmas. Just have to wait and see! Suggest you ring them if you're keen.

OK heres the deal, a little birdie tells me the dealers have CONFIRMED pricing and they can be competitive. Dont expect the heavy discounts you may see in the US like $4700 from a few sources and remember to consider + GST.

This little birdie and I think you all know who he is made a very valid point as well - buy local and you get a LOCAL 3 year warranty and local support.

Additional Info - As most stockists are closed between Christmas and New Year the first delivery will be early in the New Year. Most have sold their initial stock. The next shipment, should be plenty to spare, will be around Jan 22nd.

Shop around. Check the authorised dealers that I posted up in this thread. May I ask who quoted that?
 
Heres the thing, Lemac have solid knowledgable staff. I find their prices always on the higher end. Do with that little bit of info what you will.
 
Also guys dont hide your best quoted prices. Post them up. If someone's doing a good deal share the info, they get the business, everyone's happy.
 
Good news on the AUD if your buying an AF105 - Current Exchange 0.9984, almost parity with the USD.
 
Sorry that last post should read - if your buying AF102 (australian model)

Matt I do believe it will remain close give +/- 5%. As of right now its 1.015, so its going up up.
 
Just put my name down at John Barry Sales in Sydney, i missed the first batch of pre-orders so won't get mine untill January, but got an amazing price, the best i have seen. I would love to quote my price, but i used a contact i have whose done a lot of business with John Barry Sales and i think they gave me a special price :Drogar-Happy(DBG):
