i heard there were other memory cards other than p2p that are cheaper and hold bigger amounts of footage. i forgot what they were called but yea does anyone know what they are called or how much they are?

oh on another note i would love to get a hvx but is it really even worth it if you cant afford the p2p cards? because if you take those out of the picture wont you find with yourself with something similar to the sony HDR or HZR hdv cams?

You can try maybe limewire or Kaza for p2p- heard they have more than 1000000 gigs in files there- transfer rate is slow, tough- don't know if the bandwith is enough for dvcprohd :)

What you mean is P2, right? There are some alternatives coming, like the Cineporter cp2 and the Firestore 100. Both Hard drive recording solutions that can go beyond the current 2x8gb p2 card limit. But you can do a search in these forums for more detailed information.

An HVX200 with one 4GB P2 card comes in at around $6000. Full-out HD with slow motion can't get much cheaper than that.
