Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with dowloading P2CMS. I can download the file, but when I try to install it on my laptop (Acer Extensa 5620) it gives me the following error message-

"The installer was interrupted before P2 Contents Management Software could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again."

I've downloaded the file several times now with the same message. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

best,
JP

I am thinking that the file is a zipped file in the download, I might be wrong, but if it is and you just open it and you seet the exe. for install that does not mean that it is extracted. Extract the file, I think you can find this cmmadin one of the pull down tabs from the menu bar. Once extracted it should work.

Best,

Jan

Thanks Jan,

I've extracted the file and the two files I have are:

P2CMS_Setup
setup

I'm not seeing the exe file. ?

thanks,
JP

One of those two files is the exe. On a PC you would see the file extension on a MAC I don't believe they are shown. My bets would be on the P2CMS_ one, click on it and it just opens some documentation then you know it is the other one. Then click on it.
Best,

Jan

Yeah, it's when I click on those two files that error message comes up. I guess I'll call one of your tech guys and see what's going on. Thanks!

And you are sure you have extracted, not just opened the folder and seeing the files but really extracting them. Just because you see the files does not meean that you have them, Etract them and you will seem them create a different file structure where you have to tell the Wnzip where the files should be located.

Hi Jan,

Yes indeed, I'm extracting the downloaded file and that's the two files I see. Not sure what's happening, I've downloaded P2CMS in the past.

Hang on, I think I just found my answer. In one of the threads I saw a post where P2CMS is still not supported by Vista which is the OS I'm using on my Acer Extensa 5620 laptop. Could that be the reason I'm getting that weird error message?

best,
Jon

I'm having the exact same issue on my friends laptop. Everything is extracted and I get the msg "Please confirm the version of operating system, and service pack." and just a button to hit OK, hmmmm. Then the msg above where the installer was interrupted. hmmm hmmm hmmmmmmm.

Any suggestions?

I'm thinking it's a Vista compatibility problem. Might have to start looking at other options. This shouldn't be that difficult. Although, with the new GH1 out and at a much cheaper price, I might just go that route.

If you are running vista 64 I don't think it will work. I'd like to know if Panasonic has a plan to address this issue or if we have to buy a third party logging program like Executive Producer HD. P2CMS has worked fine for me in the past but I had to upgrade my lap top when we got our HPX500 and really committed to going tapeless. Come on Panny, we're dropping the bucks for the new cameras, help us out with the software upgrades.
