P2 viewer to see the MXF files in my HDD

Dear All,
How can I watch the MXF files in my HDD that I offloaded from my P2 cards previously?
When the files are still in my P2 cards, I can watch the files very easily by using P2 Viewer. But after I offload the files to the HDD, I don't how to direct the P2 Viewer to find the files and load them on the monitor.
In P2 Viewer, there is something called "Virtual P2 card" and "Secondary Bin." Does these functions help me to view the MXF files from my HDD?
Someone told me that I need to change the LASTCLIP text file. Is is right? How can I change?
Thank you very much.

Just use the link on my page, it's much easier to find stuff,
http://panasonic.sixbullets.net/#utilities

Set up P2 viewer with a virtual P2 card in one bin and your actual P2 card(s) in the other bin. You can click and drag, getting exact copies, or even merging two or more P2 cards into a single virtual card. You don't have to change lastclip.txt, either.

Thank you David S. and Professor U, and it is really nice for Professor U to make this web page, which is really handy.

However, my problem is not solved yet. Probably, it is because the way I copy the MXF files is not official. I just directly copy the MXF files from Audio folder and Video folder and paste them into a New Folder on my desktop. That's all. I don't copy any files from the Clip folder and nothing else.

I think an official way should be the way that Professor U said: making a virtual card in P2 Viewer first then copying and pasting.

Anyway, as I have done the mistake already, can I still watch these video and audio MXF files stored in my New Folder on the desktop directly by P2 Viewer?

By the way, I don't have any editing software in my laptop at this moment, so I can't watch the files through editing software now.

Thanks.

Try creating a virtual card and pointing it to the directories that you have created already (in the desktop folder). You should be able to get the data to work, assuming you have copied all the necessary information. Good luck!

If you want something to edit on, you can download the trial of Edius Broadcast. It's an awesome NLE and has (in my opinion, at least) the best integration with P2 workflow.

Well, you kind of screwed yourself over because you threw away some vital files. You must ALWAYS copy the ENTIRE CONTENTS directory. To do otherwise is to ruin the data structure, as you've found out.

With that said, Raylight or P2 Log Pro can probably rescue/repair your files.

Thanks, Professor, and I'm downloading Edius now, and let me see if it works. Thanks again.

ProfessorU,
I downloaded the software, and it is, as you said, awesome. The interface is cool. But by the way, if it is handy for you, can you tell me why the Print to DVD is dimmed when I try to click to it? The format of my files are DVCPRO 50 SD.
Anyway, I will post this question to Edius forums as well.
Thanks.

My guess is that that functionality isn't enabled in the trial version
Thanks you for your reply, David S. But actaully, I found out from Edius' froum that it is because of the project setting. It must be set to 50i, instead of 25P, something like this.
Thank you.
