i apologize for probably reposting the most common thread on here, but i couldn't find the answer to my question in the search...

i am shooting today and I cannot seem to get the p2 cards/store to work with my mac. I THINK i have downloaded the correct drivers, etc., but i still get "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer"

please help!!!

also, what program/viewer can the MVF files be viewed in ???

thanks in advance!

You need to switch the P2 Store over to Mac compatible. Press both buttons in the STATUS area and CANCEL key simultaneously until USB LED turns orange. That should work.

Go into File>Import>P2 Media. That should get you started of course once you have the P2 Store hooked up and reconized by your system.

Okay, I still have a few questions-

1. I have p2 genie and I am still unable to view my clips..
2. I'm still unclear how to initialize the p2 store for my mac (Intel). I see the drive in disk utility, but how do I initilialize?

thank you again for all the support, I really appreciate it

You need to mount them with the mount button in disk utility. Dude just mess around with it a little and you'll get the hang of it. Are you new to a Mac?

If you have FCP 5.1.2 you can view the clips before you import them. But its in a somewhat small window, no fullscreen...at least that I'm awear of. I've never used P2 genie so I wouldn't know anything about that.

I'm unable to view or import clips using using Final Cut Pro. I downloaded driver software from P2 support desk and P2 Log Demo. maybe I didn't download the right driver for my powermac.
The computer reconnizes the camera P2 as a harddrive and I can't view clips in P2 Log. In FCP I can see the thumbnails but can't view clips and when trying to import it reads error "one or more P2 clips failed to import; probable incomplete or corrupt clips" but the clips are fine. where can I go from here?

FCP meltdown

FCP meltdown

new question- of all my 'CONTENTS' folders I import into the p2 log, a have two or three that cause FCP to unexpectedly quit.

has anyone else ever experienced this? i couldn't find anything on a search..

thanks

Running AVID COMPOSER on a PC. FS store imports of p2 material show up, but unpredictably. Some files are there some aren't?
Frustrating. We have imported dozens of times in the past with great success. But for some reason, a group of files is giving us trouble. Surprisinly when I did it on our MAC, about half the missing files did down up when we searched for media orphans. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi All- just ran into the same issue with the P2 Store and MacBookPRo with Intel.
How did everyone solve this issue?
P2 Genie?
Mounting the drive from the Utility?
Any step by step solution?
thanks.

Hello. Im working on a shoot with the HPX 2000 and am using a Mac Book Pro with Duo Intel processors. Im using P2 manager to view the files, but when I go to view the file there is only a white frame. I was told that I need to download the DVC Pro HD codec. Was wondering if anyone knew where I can download the DVC Pro HD codec
