P2 media FCP to AVID

Shot DVCPro 50 SD on the cards and grabbed the media with FCP. Now I need the media on the AVID. Does FCP 'convert' the files to QT? The AVID doesn't see the QT files. ANyway to get mxf files out of the FCP?

Automatic Duck would be your easiest option.. or as you say you can export in a host of different file formats to Avid... although my understanding of Avid is it will re-conform the files to OMF files...

Just take the original MXF files...the entire card structure, and copy those to the Avid Media Drive. Then in Avid, go FILE>IMPORT P2>Clips to File (or whatever it is called). Avid will open P2 MXF files natively. It won't open the QT file FCP generated.

Depending on what version of AVID you are running.
