P2 Ingesting

Not sure where I am going wrong here but I need some help. Inputting P2 card into P2 management software. All the info is brought in properly and can play in viewer. Save info to separate external hard drive. When I bring in from external I get picture but no sound. JB
 
Are you sure you're setup for system audio properly- i.e. speakers plugged in and NLE routing signal properly. Do you see a waveform in your timeline?

Yes I am setup properly. One thing I figured out today is that I was ingesting p2 card to my slot drive on my Toshiba laptop than offloading into external hard drive for back up. Could there be something about windows or am I not clicking something on in the P2 management software settings for audio?I am than trying to pull out of external drive into FCS 2.

Just so you know what I am working with HVX200A, Pro Drive External drive 1TB, FCS2 on mac system. If there is a clear cut way and I am making this harder please fill me in. My goal is to keep all footage on external drive as to not overload my Imac system which has 4 GB.
 
and when you say "When I bring in from external" are you talking about in the log and transfer window? i have had intermittent problems with log and transfer not playing back audio - even though its there once added to the project.
 
Have not tried drag-n-drop. I tried to follow Barry Greens post about loading P2 into Mac with the P2 Management software. Everything is now working perfectly. The only problem I am experiencing is when I tried to ingest into my Toshiba Laptop instead of Mac. It seems to ingest perfectly but when I send to external hard drive than to Mac that is when I had the issues. If I use just Mac all is well. The only reason I was trying the laptop is so when I do field work I can be sure I can off load during a shoot. I do not have a mac laptop. Anyways if you were experiencing some audio stuff in the log and transfer than I will keep an eye out for that as well. What did you do to fix that problem incase I run into that? Thanks for the info as you seem to be a regular at answering all my questions. JB

Yeah, my log and transfer kinda plays audio when it feels like it too. But I can see the level meters moving either way so it doesn't really bother me. Then again I know what I shot, must be driving some editors crazy.
