EIGHTEEN SECONDS by Jack, Zac and Mac

its easy you bascial take a still og jack like that and he did way match it with the frame it was good but simple we did it before when a guy got thrown of a building. some times the best looking things are the easiest look at it fram by frame and you'll see.

Are we talking about the flares or the unwanted negative burns?

Flares usually come with lenses.
Burns come because we used a defectuous P2 card, and was not correclty treated in the laboratory. You know, sometimes those guys dont do the develop good enough.

What about your...you know...Car issue? How'd you do it?

We had only one possible shot with this. We later had to take JDS to the hospital, but i think the shot was worth.

I had very high expectations for this one--based on all your earlier work and I wasn't disappointed. First off Jack and Amy--you're both top notch *film* actors, bringing a lot of screen presence to the smallest gestures--my yardstick for quality. Mac and Zac--the overall quality and texture of the film is completely professional--cinematography, mise en scene, the whole schmear (if you want to get technical). Getting right to Amy's masturbation scene, it was a little shocking at first, very sexy, and completely pivotal to the story. That scene acts as a fulcrum for the story and I love the fact it's so good, integral to the story and completely non-gratuitous. Very powerful and I think Amy didn't even really need the tear to turn that corner. Jack, thank you for not bringing your full presence to your corresponding scene. :) I was very impressed by your appropriately restrained performance; at the same time as breathing life into the the character.

I loved the film, but...you didn't completely sell me on the car crash. For whatever reason, i had some trouble buying the fact that Amy's character would instantly fall in love with Jack in a busy NYC intersection. Maybe I would have rather seen a shy Mona Lisa smile that was full of potential and cut the scene down a little--they're New Yorkers :). Also, the surreal nature of lingering in the intersection with the stylized soundtrack seemed a little at odds with the naturalistic style of the preceding scenes. But that sliding briefcase shots--wow very nice. So overall a first rate effort and a pure joy to watch--maybe a little constrained by the six minute limit.

Jack and Amy ....

WOW. It was such a pleasure watching both of you in this film. Jack, I especially appreciated seeing your acting chops at last. You really have mad skilz dude. Amy, you are a gem in every sense of the word. What a beautifully shot film and I really loved the major effect. Wonderful.

they shared 18s of love then it s was all over both were alone in the world and that was probli the most important moment, was another person seeking to reach out to another...

Story & Acting
Wow. Two people in a world of monotony, finally find something to hold on to, and that is taken away in an instant. Wow, beautifully crafted story. The tragic ending works and is almost beautiful. Jack and Amy, you both did an amazing job here in the acting department. Nice work, very nice work!

Technical
Great gritty cinematography. It felt like It was shot with 35mm. Very nice work. The effect at the end was brilliant, and impactful! Great work.

60i in 444? could down res to 440X240 pretty nicely. or it was patially shot on Jacks HVX.

huh?
it was 100% my HVX mostly with Mac's Guerilla35 (now cinemek- a nice static adaptor) and a couple of shots with my letus. We were going to use my letus but there was dust in it. I took it apart to try and fix it but could not get it back together properly in time to use it.

the briefcae shot, which I got after Mac had returned to spain, and Amy eating and cutting her finger were Letus/HVX the rest were Cinemek35/HVX

Wow I didn't get that. I'll watch again.

My impressions of 18 SECONDS:

what a poetic, lyrical film. this has got to be one of the more understated "spiritual" films i've ever seen. i really admire this one for its total originality and lack of pretentiousness . just a beautiful, meditative statement on the often neglected interconnection between all of us. it has that transcendent naturalism that kieslowski was so fond of. you have my respect and admiration!!!

So if it's so mundane and boring why do we see a very attractive woman mastubating which is sexually exiting? Maybe it could have been done in a less sexual way.(if that makes any sense)
