P2 Genie/P2 Viewer/Macdrive issues

The way I like to work is I use P2 Genie for the import and then I use P2 Log on a Mac or P2 Viewer on a PC to view a few seconds of the imported footage to make sure it is there before I erase the P2 card. A client came to set with a Mac formatted harddrive, and I found that P2 Genie didn't work on my PC when writing to it, even though I have Macdrive installed. I had to use the old fashion way of dragging it to the harddrive, and once there I couldn't view the files with P2 viewer ether. Has anyone experienced this? if so is there a way I can make it work?

Macdrive no work on big disc

Macdrive no work on big disc

I use a pc laptop with the P2 viewer for dumping P2 cards. Then transfer stuff to Mac, fcp and backup. P2 viewer works ok when viewing clips from the internal PC drives and up to 250 gb fw drives. I have Macdrive too, which lets me find and move files between pc and mac discs. But P2 viewer can't see and playback the mxf files on my 1TB lacie drive, mac formatted. I have to move the files back to the pc drive to check them. (not that I do that often, but it's annoying).

The issue with MacDrive has been reported and Brian is right - there are some compatibility-issues with P2 Genie and MacDrive that don't work. My guess is that MacDrive operates on top of Windows and "cheats" Windows acting like a bridge. The native Windows calls I make in P2 Genie do not seem to be translated by MacDrive (for some reason).
