P2 file transfer problems

I got the hosting of the HVX to an external HDD to work. After I transfered my card over I hooked the HDD back to my mac. It shows the files are there but FCP won't recognize them. It won't let me import them to my project. Is there something I have to do to the files before FCP will let me use them for editing?

Which version of Final Cut Pro?

Because it has changed from 5.1.4 and later. It's kinda of important to give version numbers, plus this is covered in the on line help menu.

I have 5.1.4. Studio 2 upgrade is on order. I bet once I install Studio 2 this won't be an issue.

For 5.1.4, use File->Import->Panasonic P2.
