The one other thing that might be helpful: The problem seems to occur less when managing smaller files such as still images rather than 2 or 5 or 10 gig video files. I would still advise copying only from one USB drive at a time, not copying from one to another (except across a network using different computers for each drive), and only having one copy or read or write function going on with that drive at a time. Once we became anal about doing that, the corruption problems went away.

Thanks. Keep me posted if you find it--even a PM if this thread gets buried and forgotten would be very appreciated. Most of my transfer work is from internal SATA drives to external Firewire drives. Thanks for the info!
