Output from Final Cut to HVX...

I'm trying to output my 23.98 project to mini dv via my HVX, but the camera only records the very first frame and records black until I escape out of the process. I really need to get this done so I can transfer the project to beta.

I'm baffled...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to record HD to mini DV through the cam?

Might want explain what your project settings are.

No, it's actually just a SD project shot at 24pa with the DVX that I'm just trying to output to mini DV.

Originally filmed with the DVX, but trying to output the finished project via FCP to mini DV using my HVX so I can transfer to Beta.

I'm using a 23.98 timeline, and the footage was captured at 24p advanced pulldown.

will your project play thru the hvx? if so, it should also record. if not, you may need to set your pulldown options in fcp. remember dv is always 29.97fps. so a 23.98 project must have 2:3 pulldown inserted to play thru or record to a dv cam. pulldown options are on the left side of the timeline under the little "RT" menu. choose 2:3:2:3 and you should be all good provided your computer is capable.
