Out of sync problem

Hi everyone: I'm a new member and am having sync problems burning BD DVDs. I am using Premiere Pro CS5 for post production. When I input new files from my HMC-150, I am always out of sync by between 8 and 22 frames. I unlink, resync, and relink and everything is fine. I then use Encore to burn the BD DVD and end up out of sync again even though playing in Encore shows it in sync. Both input and output are set at 48K audio. This is probably operator error at my end but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks. Jon

So, if you leave the error in place and output to Encore it sounds like everything would actually be in-sync at output. Is this correct? If so, the footage and audio are in fact 'in-sync' but it's the playback latency within PP/Encore that is causing the problems, and that needs to be the focus of the question. It's unlikely that PP CS5 is actually importing the files incorrectly.

I've always found the Adobe forums a great place to get answers to problems like this. http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/premierepro_current?view=discussions

You might get more answers to this issue in the output or post sections of the forum - this isn't likely an issue with the HMC.

Firewire does have a delay. Don't use that. Use the internal sound system of the editing computer. That will likely solve all your sync issues.

Jim: I switched over to the internal sound system and still had the same sync issues. Interestingly, it only is a problem when burning a blu-ray dvd. Premiere Pro burns an SD dvd without sync issues. Have the out of sync problem whether I go through Encore or use Toast to burn the blu-ray. When I brought the same video into Final Cut Pro and started a re-edit, I had no sync problems. Enough to tear my hair out! Jon
