C300: Other options of attaching Mic to C300 MK3 instead of mic mount

I've just had the hot shoe connector on the monitor replaced as it had got loose and the monitor was slipping at an angle.

Having the weight of a mic & wind cover on the monitor doesn't help so was wondering what other MK2 users were doing.

Do you place the mic on the camera body and if so, how?

To follow up, my solution was the Sennheiser MZS 600 Shock Mount for MKE600 (which fits my Audio Technica mics) with a DM-Accessories BOT-FLAT Handle or Underside Camera Shoe Mount (Black).

This solution seems to work well.

I was thinking of something similar, but your Sennheiser mount is a better idea than the rode mount I was thinking of.

I have a couple of Rycote mounts like this. They are ok , the isolation is pretty good, the problem I find is that they tend to get knocked out of position in the course of shooting , especially run and gun situations.
