Thanks! I'm trying to build my own (semi) portable storage solution from a MacMini (with an uprated hard drive), an 8inch LCD touchscreen, FCP, lots of gaffer tape and some sort of an improvised battery. I haven't given it too much thought yet, but I'm sure I'll come up with something that works as both a capture device and a monitor (of sorts).

Later I might give in and get the cineporter! :D

Damn...just heard from a dealer here in the north of germany that pana changed shipping date from march to april(with no specific date...)-THAT SUCKS!
Hope it doesnt become true, cause i am taking off the 5th of april to start a production..anyone of you heard something about it from a gb/european dealer?
Lets pray the cam is coming soon!

I'm not too bothered about the wait though, as it will give us time to get options for editing under the belt.

Hi everyone. I've been reading the forum for the past week, and have found a great deal valuable information. Thanks.

I'm about to purchase my first broadcast level camera and I'm feeling pretty positive over the ole HVX. I do have a couple of questions for fellow ukers.

1. I've mainly been using Avid Xpress Pro for dv. How are things for xpress with regards to this cam and 25p.

2. Is the fs-100 out to buy now? I'm thinking I'd like to start with it rather than spend a grand on 2 4gb cards.

3. Coming from dv I havent had a great need for a pricey(quality) media storage solution. I know that I'm going to have to upgrade and have noticed G-Sata over at videoguys.com. Will this suffice for dvcprohd?

I think the FS-100 Firestore will be out when the camera comes out because www.cke.co.uk are advertising the HVX + Firestore for £4995 (exc VAT).

I'm only assuming this, so a quick call to CKE might be worthwhile.

I keep hearing here on the forum that the cam will come out around the 24th of march, i really hope thats right, but panas information policy really sucks..!!

I would suggest you guys to order an fs100 as well, cause as fare as i know there wount be mouch p2 cards available until the end of april...but i am sure this will be a thread here soon..just a guess..!
 
I got told today that there was a lack of P2 cards so that's why they are releasing the FS-100 at the same time.

In the UK Panasonic haven't given a strict release date (according to my dealer) but have said it will be released some time next week.
 
Proav have just emailed me telling me that they are expecting the cams in tomorrow or wednesday. I'm just placing my order.

Mitcorp have hinted that I will be getting mine wednesday but wouldn't commit fully. Don't want to build my hopes up only to get them crushed yet again.
 
I'll ring up CKE either tomorrow if I have time, but probably Wednesday. See if they have any more info.
 
Just spoke to Mitcorp this morning. They are shipping units already apparently! They haven't got one on site to demonstrate with but might have by next week/2 weeks time.

£3495 + VAT
