Options for canon 24-70

Iv'e googled like a nutjob but can't figure out if sigma 24-70 is asp-c or fullframe??? Samples look pretty much identical to canon 24-70 in terms of colors & bokeh BUT from my understanding it's not as sharp at 2.8?

Comparisons between the two seem to usually lead to the same link/website from 2005, not very interesting... does the Sigma cover fullframe AND is it sharp enough on todays resolutions? At 2.8 obviously, otherwise just a waste of money (not an easy thing finding a good 24-70L either but).

So is it a lens worth trying out? What little comparisons i've seen they look very similar. Not sure I'm ready to go through the hazzle of finding a good 24-70L on ebay (costs x2 as much new here in Sweden so not an option to return lenses trail-and-error).

edit: Hmm comments on amazon aren't too good. Maybe just go for the 24-105 and be done with it... need a zoom badly.

I would definitely do your own tests at a camera dealer. I found some serious CA flaws in the Canon 24-70 side by side against my much cheaper Tamron 17-50 non vc. You'll know in 2 minutes what lens you really want once you see the performance with your own eye.

I hear Tamron is releasing a 24-70 ff lens, maybe it will be a good option, jury is still out on that one.

Do yourself a favor and do not buy the 24-70mm lens, I really do not like this lens at all. I actually prefer my Prime lenses or even my Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8

I was underwhelmed by the Canon 24-70 2.8L from the minute I picked it up. From all the hype with descriptions like "Massive" I was envisioning something more like a Cooke zoom.
Then my quick CA test really closed the deal.
