I unfortunately have to sell a lens. The only other one at the moment I own is the Sigma 30mm 1.4. If you have to choose .. which one lens would you sell?

1) 100mm 2.8L Macro Canon
2) 17-55mm 2.8 IS Canon

I shoot all kinds of stuff but I'd say let's think of this from a filmmakers perspective.

sell the 100mm. U can shoot a film on the others. 17-55 covers most the the most used cinema focal lengths and then you have the 30mm when you want either a fast lens or just prime goodness. the 100 is the least versatile of the group.

yeah i completely agree. If you need to pear down the kit throw out the SFX lenses first. If you really need that Macro get some macro filters (the magnifier ones)

Cool.

Owned all three before 50mm 85mm and Tokina 11-16. All served me well. To be honest the 17-55mm 2.8 IS and 100mm 2.8 IS kicks all three of those lenses ass in terms of quality of image.

Anyway I sold the lens.

Thanks for all your opinions everyone. At this point moving on to buy up L-lenses and Zeiss.
