Eternity--
Kind of...
I just moved FROM Philly where I was STEEPED in the Christian hip hop scene (chuckle, chuckle, most don't even know it exists). I'm actually editing some footage of Da T.R.U.T.H as we speak for an A/V Bible study down in Orlando... I also shot his album cover http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2624471
There was a time when I lived and breathed "Holy Hip Hop"...but after a while it just became another thing that got in the way of really focusing on God. I'm still great friends with many of those guys, and I can highly recommend christian hip hop to suit ANY skeptical music lover's taste...it's an expansive genre...but, while it once was, it is no longer the ONLY thing I listen to...so I guess a simple "YES." would have sufficed!
About a year ago, you would have found me frequenting hiphopforthesoul.com or some other HHH website as much as I currently hang out here.
So I'm Watching your clip in the den and my old lady is tellin me to shut the **** up from the kitchen cos she can't hear her soap. Hell I'm keeping that clip on the HD for ammo if nothin else. You see...When I do play which is rare these days and usually after a box of beer, I sound identical to you
This was totally run and gun for me. It's so hardcore.
Actually, this was one of those 'speed of thought' ones. Totally "performance based". On board EVERYTHING. I couldn't get the camera on the tripod fast enough. But I had to color correct.
I do however, endorse the ME66/K6 combo. by Sennheiser. When I'm doing "serious" stuff (in an indie kind of way), that's the mic for me...but it's a boom and it kinda demands a boom operator, because if you mount it on camera, you pick up way too much camera noise. I haven't tried using a decent shockmount (on camera) it's just too bulky. PLUS, because of the mic's pickup pattern, camera mounted booms pick up more of the camera operator than other mic types...
