What I meant was that one reason over all the other reasons to get one of these would be...

The stills from this thing have pull like hair in a chic fight. As a DSLR and ripping stills from it, it's incredible.

It's crazy how good the stills from the video are. Oh yeah, that's from video, not the actual still side. Still side is just unbeatable.

Zeiss C/Y combo is awesome as well. Love my 28-70 C/Y Zoom on this thing.

Ha! I always said it had the better 1080, didn't I? Just said that I didn't like the Full Frame DOF characteristics.

Tsk. I may be the only guy around here that said "hey, it gets manual controls and I'll buy it!" and actually DID that. =D
 
Just having fun with ya......... Now go upgrade your camera; the firmware is up, and your new 5DMII is waiting!
 
I just converted a 3 minute clip from 30p to 24p from a vid on vimeo, and with some grading on it I'm convinced that I'll be getting another one of these asap. In all honesty, this cam converted down to sd looks insane.

LoL I know. Still can't wait for my GH-1 pair. Til they arrive I'll do some MKii work.

And your'e crazy if you think I didn't already nab the firmware. =D

The 24P conversion looks pretty good to my eyes. Great additional tool to have.

When you can; I'd like to see a 5DMII 30 to 24fps converted file. Sounds promising!

Hey squig I did the denver conversion and it worked great but rendered no better conversion than what i'm getting from compressor 3, just without the extra steps of cin tools.

I mean the cadance is beautiful. with the grading and some slight grain applied it looked very red like. the dynamic range is way better than what I thought. my wife refused to believe it was shot with the 5d.

Can we see a sample by any chance?


The good thing is 24fps is coming from Canon as soon as it gets cleared by QA from the beta testing.....

I'm dying to see a GH1- 5D2 - PENTAX K7 shootout.


After seeing that still Kholi ( thats a video rip?!} , I'm losing interest in the gh1.
Havent seen anything like that from the gh1.

And if you compare this to the DV from the DV cameras -
those *&^%$$###))(+__+#@@ manufacturers made us pay a fortune for! - makes me want to weep.

JUST HAD TO add though, I'm worried about jello in the 5D2.
also, How much will lenses set me back?

LOL yeah that still is a video rip. Naturally, I've got the sharpness dialed ALL the way down, just how I like it.
 
what I like about it is there's no artifacts in the dark low detail background areas that I see in most of the shots from the other cams
 
That's it dammit. I think I'll spring for one of these......in a couple of weeks (just in case info about the 60D comes up).
