Is my recording head dirty or what ?

From my latest shoot with my dvx I got some problems with my footage...

Shot 2 tapes, got 3 frames with problems. Those little misaligned mosaics appear. 2 frames from the first tape and 1 frame from the second tape.

The first tape was new from the wrappers while the second one was continuation of a shoot which has 33mins remaining.

I'm capturing with another videocam. Tried capturing twice at the same footage with the problem, results are still same, with mosaics

It does look like a problem with dirty recording head. but I don't understand why it appears intermittently and when I tested recording of a 10 secs footage, everything seems fine before and after I ran the head cleaner tape.

I do wish to try out the cleaning method posted here but I never manage to source the materials to do it. So I just make do with the cleaner tape.

Is this really a dirty head problem ? How to ensure it doesn't come again or any prevention steps ? any way to confirm .... Previously I did reuse tapes 2 times but now its all new tapes.

Do you use the same tapes all the time? Or has the Capture Cam had different brand tapes through it?
This can cause problems, but head cleaner should fix. Do a search on TAPE

Previously I did use same tape for two times each. But never practise this for quite sometime and everything was fine. Now only new tapes.

Prior to this the capture cam was working fine also. all run in same pana pq tapes.

I did capture the same footage twice and the problem appears in the same place. This might tell me that it's not the problem with the capture machine...

Might be the playback head, in which case your original footage is fine. If it was the recording head then yeah, your footage is hosed...

erm... as I did captured twice on the same frame and both also have the same problem. .. can I safely conclude that it's not the playback machine's head ? ....

and one more question that I don't understand. If the recording head is dirty, wouldn't the mosaics thingy happen more often ??? and I got 3 parts of my total footage with this problem.

since it's like showing up intermittently.. how do i ensure that I've cleaned it up properly ?
