Olympus 14-35mm f/2.0

Is the Olympus 14-35 considered a parfocal or varifocal lens? In other words does it hold focus while zoomed? Can I zoom in get my focus then zoom out and still have focus like a "typical" video lens or do I have to re-focus?

It seems that a support is needed for the Olympus 35-100. But what about the 14-35? Are you using a support for that, or can you just "let it hang"? Jan seemed to think it was ok, anyone else tried it?

I have a few SWD Zuikos and they are heavy.

I use the lens support shown below, which can been found on ebay, and it works perfectly for those lenses which have a collar/bracket (for example, the SWD 50-200mm).

hangs safely off the panasonic or olympus mff1 adapteres.

I'm also looking for a way to support the 14-35 f/2. Apparently the AF100 can hold up to 1KG lens without Support. But the 14-35 will be slightly over 1kg, 14-35:915g + DMW-MA1 adapter:87g = 1002grams. Plus a B+W UV filter:99g = 1101grams total weight.

100 grams isn't hugely overweight, but it is over the specified limit. Is this OK or should I buy some 3rd party mount like the Redrock? I would love it if someone official like Jan could give an opinion on this, I'd rather not have to buy two seperate support mounts, one for a lens with a collar and one for a lens without one.

Still trying to figure out if I will need support for my 14-35 f/2 lens. And if I do, what can I use to support it?

Anybody?

At least Panasonic didn't seem to use any support for it when they were displaying the camera at events. Didn't someone from this forum even ask Jan about it at one of those events? Philip Bloom doesn 't seem to use support even for the 35-100. http://www.flickr.com/photos/cristinavaldivieso/5363970180/in/set-72157625718557843/
