Official offloading P2 procedure?

Hi all. I just recently received my P2 card and am having a hard time finding a firm procedure or offloading the P2 card.
I connect my HVX with a firewire and mount the P2 on the desktop. I then open FCP and import P2. I then get all of my files in quicktime. Is this it? I back it up of course, but should I be copying the contents of the card as well or using a program like P2 log. If anyone can outline an official step-by-step process, i'd be much appreciated. That's it. The P2 Import window creates QuickTime movies in your Capture Scratch folder. You can back up the CONTENTS folder and LASTCLIP.TXT file if you want. I just keep the QuickTimes, they have all the metadata, they won't be going to any other systems, for us, they're all we need.

You're on the right track, that's all there is to it.

I always back up the original files onto one drive, then import onto another. Keeping the first drive as my archive. Who knows how FCP will interface with MXF in the future, or even if I will use FCP to edit the footage...or if I sell some of it as stock footage to someone using another system.
