OFFICIAL A1 Custom Presets thread

Not quite sure which preset this is....I found it on my card from a while back. I've compared it to the other presets on this thread and I still like it the best. Great colors!

Gamma: 2
Ped: -9
Setup: 2
Sharp: 4
HDF: Low
Corring: 1
CGN: 11

Try this and let me know what you think. Again I like it above all the others!

Preset: 35MMFILM

Preset: 35MMFILM

Using a totally new approach, i developed the preset 35MMFILM which is optimized for 35mm adapters but rocks too without adapter.

Sample video: http://www.vimeo.com/2676198

35MMFILM features:
  • less magenta casting
  • Lower gamma
  • More color separation and contrast

To acheve a lower gamma (lower than possible with the A1) i rised the high-mid to high levels.
Just lower slightly the lens aperture of the camera and you will get lower gamma with normal highlights and mid tones! :)

Do you recommend this setting for those of us not using adapters? Very nice footage by the way!

nice looking stuff man, try shooting that preset with some faces :) Lets see what we can get.

The face has still some magenta, or maybe too much saturation...

the magenta levels look pretty good actually, pretty natural.

Well haev to do some more tests/comparisons now between this preset, panavision, panalook 2, vision 4 and truecolor.

Will all the great presets I've tested and used, I still like Vision01 the best...lol. I tried my hardest to like the way the new panavision looks but I always find myself toggling back to vision01. I shot some fireworks today with panavision so after I get done putting a small clip together I'll see how it turned out.

Can't wait to try this one out :) (any preset with a normal gamma gets me hopeful that it may be "the one" preset, heh). Won't the NR2 on High cause ghosting?

N2 does soften the image quite a bit from waht i've seen. i'd rather have more noise and a sharper image.

You are right.

Here a modded version that is sharper, but not noisier. In fact is seem even cleaner than previous presets.
I'm doing some tests and i'm amazed by the purity of this preset.
And if you are afraid of all that coring watch THIS

Just tested the newest 35MMFILM setting. Had a green tinge to it when trying to auto balance in really extreme tungsten light. Try manual but the camera wouldn't go that blue. Also, in comparing it to vision01, skin tones are a bit flat.

My observations. Thanks for sharing though. I'll try tweaking it to my liking.
