Odyssey7Q

I've just heard that the Odyssey 7(Q) and Small HD ac7 share the exact same OLED panel. (which sounds like a great news!)
I don't know if it's true but this is coming from a representative working at a major importer in Japan.

Also, i was about to pull the trigger on a 5.6" TVLogic monitor, but he begged me to wait until i see the Odyssey ! That's some enthusiasm ;)

That wouldn't surprise me, but panel is only part of the image since there is a lot of hardware/software processing the images and driving the panel. I've always been disappointed with the image quality from SmallHD's software, though I've never used their OLEDs, only their DP1, DP4, and DP6 monitors. For example the DP6 may use the same panel as TVlogic's 5.6" LCD but TVlogic's looks so much better.

Is there that awful yellow tint on TVlogic? I've used some when renting but can't remember any yellow tint. I don't like DP6, but not happy with TVlogic reflecting so much stuff on it.

I saw SmallHD's new OLED monitor at NAB. It looked great with no yellow tint.

Does anyone know the best mounting options for the 7Q with a FS700? I'm wondering how stable such a large monitor will be when shooting with a shoulder mount or glidecam.

Hey Dan,
What's the possibility that, at some time in the future, the O7Q will be able to acquire in XAVC?
Inquiring minds want to know.
C-D licensed the MPEG2 50 before anyone else did, so I wonder if you guys could do the same with XAVC?
Best regards,
Bill
