Does this mean 4K compressed itself ain't too far off either?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.

Boy, ya give an inch ... ;-)Does this mean 4K compressed itself ain't too far off either?
That's great news, thanks for that.Boy, ya give an inch ... ;-)
We are working on all of the capture formats. When we feel comfortably close we'll let you know.
We believe that the 4K RAW to HD compressed 10-bit 422HQ will become the defacto shooting format for many of you. This completely circumvents the 8-bit video infrastructure of the FS700. Congratulations, y'all have brand new cameras.

We are shipping to Europe and the rest of the world. I know a quantity is going out to our EU distributor in the next couple of weeks. That is excellent news. How is shipping to Europe going? Are you getting them over in decent numbers? Am still waiting on mine.
RAW is the wrong word, that refers to pre-deBayered data. But there will be options for SLog2 and other settings. More info when we get close to release. That's great news, thanks for that.
However a question, my apologies if it's a dumb one. Will the compressed signal be recorded as raw or will there be picture profile and course balance info added in. If so, what will our choices be on picture profile settings.

As stated earlier, moving forward Convergent-Design will only announce upcoming firmware update details we have high confidence we can fulfill. This goes both for dates and for features. Our engineers are always working hard and we are now able to announce another feature which will be made available with our upcoming February Firmware Update.
FS700 Recording Option: 4K RAW to High Quality HD, recorded in a high quality 10-bit 4:2:2 compressed codec
For Odyssey7Q owners who have purchased the FS700 Recording Option, the Odyssey7Q will be able to accept the 4K RAW signal, deBayer it and super-sample it to 1920x1080 with our new advanced high quality algorithm. This algorithm improves both the deBayer as well as the super-sampling processes. The Odyssey7Q will then be able to record the HD signal in a popular compressed codec in 10-bit 4:2:2 at a high quality. At this time we can state that the Odyssey7Q will be able to do this at frame rates up to 30p, and it is expected to attain the camera's full 60p frame rate with further development. Additinal further development will allow HD capture in 12-bit 4:4:4.
As we move closer to release, if other features can be enabled in this firmware release it will be announced here. I will change the first post on this thread to reflect the current release information.
