Odyssey7Q February 2014 Firmware Update

a little comparison ... its directly with 709 picture profile

This is the moment we all were waiting for: We finally got it now and its amazing: 4K RAW @ 60fps works perfect, the 4K>HD looks brilliant (you guys really should receive awards!!) Davinci WB is great. Lets go out and use this reborn camera-recorder system, thanks CD!

Hate to be a negative nancy, but why does changing modes take 3 minutes now? Kind of a productivity killer. Going to get lots of impatient eye rolls from producers.

That's just the first time the software mode is loaded, afterwards it appears to be faster to switch. Is that the same for you?

cheers
Paul

Hopefully Adobe updates soon... Sequences import fine into AE with RAW control. Premiere won't even give me the option to click "image sequence" when importing.

Do you know if the file is corrupted while shooting (i.e. a message, or issue with playback from the Playback mode?)

Then again, I've been on studio shoots where a DIT was constantly checking files from a KiPro because they had issues with files being messed up or dropping frames. No equipment is perfect.

Yeah, my switching take roughly 17 seconds.

I think you're doing it wrong. Use the Media Browser and import the folder. It works
that way for me with the old .dng's.

So no one else is getting failures to record where it closes the clip right away? I'm just checking. Thanks. I'm hoping it is just me.

Having no issues like that. Also recording 4K raw and then Prores on same drive with no issues. Seems pretty sturdy here... Sorry its not working for you. I'd probably just revert back to original firmware and try again, but that's just me, CD's customer service is pretty awesome, you could give em a call.

Is it actual better clarity? Because it does look like there is more contrast as well.

The 4K2HD is infinitely better than standard AVC HD quality (or even the 422 output), i don't think there is anything in this class that can come close at the moment in terms of real detail and subtlety.

cheers

Gentlemen glad to hear on both accounts! I can't wait to see some of the video people shoot and I guess if there are issues I'd much rather be rowing that boat alone. Hopefully I can get this to work.

Awesome! Thank you. Now the other problem is that all the frames are purple... kind of the opposite of the green issue before.

I'm loving the 4k2HD image, totally different world and how pleasing is it to see 2.39 available on each 256 SSD. Oh yeah v happy. Now where's the dog!

You will have to wait for Adobe update to fix the purple issue. Start bugging them. I'll do the same.
