It is just for now. Full 4K coming soon. Most people only use UHD anyway and we wanted to have it done in the cleanest, easiest way for clients to take through post.

Funny no one asked why we went 4K to HD and not 4K to 2K. Same thing. We'll have the extra width versions available soon.
 
A couple questions while waiting for the software to load....

" FS7OO 4K RAW TO UHD APPLE PRORES " is there a difference between 4K raw to UHD and the NON 4kRaw to uhd? (and are you expecting to come out later with a "4K RAW to 4K prores later?)

" 4K (4096x2160) Apple ProRes 422(HQ) at 23.98, 25 and 29.97 fps " Do I need to purchase the Sony Raw option from CD to record this?

And let's not forget DaVinci Resolve Lite only exports UHD right now.
Btw, thank you Mitch and the whole CD team the time and effort you put into this update!

Awesome! Thanks for the update. It installed without a glitch after I copied the }ODYSSEY_UPDATE{ onto the SSD, had copied the whole folder 3.10.100 at first, the instructions aren't that clear. Can't wait to test it. Great work CD!
 
Mitch, just testing 4K>UHD and zooming still displays the black screen bug when zooming and dragging to top left. That was meant to be fixed yes?
 
In FS700 4K>UHD mode I've just noticed a fairly large drop in screen brightness when recording. WFM doesn't change just the screen display. When stopping recording the screen brightens again. Odd. Anyone else seeing this? Maybe related to the new power saving tweaks??? Shouldn't happen though.

I was just about to post this also. Whenever you press record in UHD mode (Slog2, Rec709 or Rec709 800) the screen brightness drops a fair bit. Looks like it doesn't affect the recording.
 
I've also noticed that in playback, you only get single file playback. Multiple clips and a select all feature doesn't exist. Why is that Mitch?

I do like the new menu structure much better having just the options per camera selected available.

We're on a production now, can't update today. Screen dimming is worrisome! Can somebody please test SDI loop out and HDMI to see if Dir. Or video village experience is the same?

Did you try 4K>HD? Does this also happen in that mode? If so, that would keep me from upgrading now.

Just checked the 4K>HD Mode and that doesn't exhibit the screen dimming, only the UHD mode it seems. Not tested video input modes or other camera modes, just FS700 RAW.
 
I saw several mentions that this firmware would have something new related to LUTs but I don't see it listed anywhere in the release.
