Thanks, I'll try these settings.Mine isn't like that. It's a little green, but not way off like yours. I think you should call Dan Keaton as he really tries hard to get things done. The in-office Tech Support is not nearly as helpful as Dan.
If DNGs are an issue, try these settings and it should closely match 4K2HD
Project Settings > Color Science > DaVinci ACES
Camera RAW
1) Cinema DNG
2) White Balance = As Shot
3) Color Space = BMD FIlm
4) Gamma = BMD Film
5) Lift = 0
6) Gain = 0
7) Contrast = -20 (This is new to Resolve 11)
8) Exposure = 3.00 (on Resolve 10, it was 2.5, so maybe test it a bit)
I'm in the Middle East, so calling the US would be tricky with timing.
Also, did you try to reapply the Firmware? Same process like updating the FW, but from 2.11 to 2.11.
Can you describe what you exactly do in your workflow from shoot to post?
I see in one of your pics you have the LUT activated, this causes a purple shift on my unit too afaik. I don't use LUT's that often though.
Honestly, i don't mean to sound rude, but i think that the problem really is your workflow. When i view the RAW's via Quicklook, my dng's also seem underexposed, altough i exposed them correctly. All the dng's shot with the odyssey need a + 2.5 Exposure correction, 0.8 gamma correction and the normal fancy "BMD Film" selections in resolve to match what you were seeing while shooting.
These adjustments do not mean that you will introduce more noise in the image or whatnot. This has nothing to do with underexposure.
Yup, i tried to reapply the firmware the first time. And then I did the more recent update (2.10 to 2.11 i think... don't remember exact numbers)... same issue.
The thing is, all this worked as expected prior to this firmware. We're not just talking about underexposed when in Quicklook... the actual color changes as shown in the screenshots.
The project I'm working on currently is very go-go and shooting mostly shoulder-mounted.... so the LUT helps to see at a glance in usually direct light. Without it, the screen is quite reflective and hard to see.
I'll try out those settings... but I don't understand why this is an issue now when it was not before. As Stephan says, avoid the LUTs on the 7Q as you are doing. Also avoid the CD LUTs in post. Just use the settings above and it's pretty good in Resolve. I just leave it at S-Log. I just try to keep things as simple as possible, no LUTs, no REC 709. Only S-Log until final color and things work well.
