Noob needs a reality check on workflow

Hi guys,
I'm new here, and to the HVX-200 as well. I've searched out and read every thread I could find that touches on this topic, but there always seems to be at least one post mixed in that makes me question my conclusions.

I'm gearing up to do some greenscreen work (in studio).
Confirm this statement for me - I will be able to record via firewire in 1080/24p (with advanced pulldown) directly to my mac's internal disc array.

Is that reasonable?

Thanks,
SB

i believe the answer is "false" unless you have proprietary software like Serious Magic's DV Rack. see this post:
http://www.seriousmagic.com/msgboard/viewtopic.php?pid=215540#p215540

"Serious Magic, Inc. announced today that DV Rack, the company's powerful direct-to-disk video recording and monitoring software, will support the Panasonic AG-HVX200, the world's first hand-held high definition solid-state memory camcorder.

"DV Rack records direct-to-disk eliminating the need to swap P2 cards while shooting,"

I don't own your cam or this software, so maybe i should STFU, but I hope this helps.

I've not tested that particular preset, but I'v recorded 720/24p directly into FCP 5.1.2 on a desktop and a MacBook internal HD without issue.

You can, but you'd have to copy the existing 1080i30 Capture Preset and customize it for 24p with pulldown turned on.
