Noktor 50mm f/0.95 - new micro four third lens from a new company

Wow, that is awesome, Solomon! I've admired your work and look forward to seeing what happens with your lens offerings. At this point, I'm sold on the M4/3 format and am excited to see the native lens choices expand.

All sorts of people seem to be fine paying $1,000 for the wide angle for the GH1, or other micro 4/3 cameras...this seems like the sort of specialty lens that would fall into the same category.

I sure have fun with a Lecia Noctilux on the end of the GH1...who cares if the lens is worth 5 times as much as the camera?

Damn! That looks HOT. I take back what I said, this is now tempting me. HAHA.

Please come out with a stupid fast wide next. Please Please!!!

Either way Solomon, congrats on the release.

It is the same as any other 50mm lens on a GH1.

It would have the field of view equivalent to a 100mm lens on a full-frame 35mm camera.

Edit: Just read (most) of the thread.

Just voted for Canon mount (which is ahead in votes).

Can't wait to see 1080p samples wide open. I think the real test would be to snap a still and downscale to 1080p, that way you really get all the resolved detail the lens has to offer at 1080.

Focus throw will need to be long, or at least very decent and with an accurate feel.

What are the currently-available options for an f/0.95 50mm lens that isn't fixed-aperture?

Only Leica ($10k), right?

I am sure I already said this somewhere but why the bleepitybleep (yeah I typed that, not profanity filter) is the aperture ring all nice and geared like for a follow focus and the focus ring isn't? What's the point?
