Nokton 25mm F0.95 arrived! Shots at night wide open on GH1

thanks bitcrusher. @J Davis, 10 blades for the iris! Next time I will use it at 1.4, should produce very smooth bokeh. Discovered the cat eye like bokeh in this clip results from shot wide open. a phenomenon occurring on high speed glass, stopping down half or one stop should keep the highlights round (not that I mind the cat eye look, just good to know how to work around it)

I know this is a video forum, but I received many emails asking for photographs, so if you guys are interested....check it out
street photos taken today, aperture 1.4 in bright daylight
I am really impressed, very sharp, direct link below, let me know what you think.

Very nice pictures. And as a fellow NYer, the scenes are much appreciated. Was the tattooed guy a friend or did he not mind being filmed?

Hey Mike. Good catch - That's one fast lens. Nice stills gallery as well. I saw some early pictures from the lens and it tended to be a little on the soft side when wide open. Is that what you mean when you say the 0.95 is deceiving?

thanks henry, maybe I got a really good copy of the lens, I just took a few more snaps wide open and if the focus is right on, this lens is sharp! no softness in the center, really impressive! I will be using it wide open a lot.
just posted this slideshow with 100% crops on youtube, got a bunch of email from ipad users complaining they couldn't see the slide show (no problem for my droid to see flash hehehe)
hmmm, sorry for the stupid question, still searching - how do I embed a youtube video here?

That was my first thought when I found the clip two days ago when I left these links here:

But Mike is an artist (and a good one, BTW :-)
Take a look on his still stuff:

There's another curious clip on the same series here (that shows the glass quality better than any chart :-)

Impossible to still have doubts right? :) Anyway, here's another little sample as example for all in these and other boards ;-)

A great example of the wonderful B&W settings in GH-1. Were those Dynamic B&W? I've wanted to find a way in Lightroom to create a preset to match the RAW to the in camera processed dynamic BW. But it is MUCH harder than you think.

This is a wrong assumption and all of the comments about WB are wrong too. WHen you shoot a night under this kind of lighting this is what you are going to get. It's a compromise so either learn about it or don't post as it shows a hobbiest's mentality....

I've yet to understand why there's such a desire to post negative comments. This stuff looks stunning in both the daylight and the nighttime stuff. I've not read through all the comments but seems emblamatic of the hobby crowd that now runs amok and thinks the DSLR revolution is the end all be all. It's a trend and like all trends brings new tools but doesn't negate the old time tested skills.... It's just bad sportsmanship.
