NO Moire alternative if 70D

at launch, some info said it would have raw and prores at launch, other sources said it would be prores only initially, then raw sometime down the road; and there were some confusing statements regarding uncompressed or compressed raw, too; I guess it's not really clear yet, since it's still in development

That's exactly what I thought. At NAB I was told that it couldn't get "RAW" to sd card by one of their guys in the booth. Definitely says now it will have CinemaDNG RAW. It will be interesting to see what they or if they ever actually come out with something :)

I just did a little blind test, to compare the sharpness of the gh2 to Nikon D7100. As you can see from the different post, it is nearly indistinguishable. This is my first test between the two camera because it was the only image parameter that I did not know where the D7100 is clearly superior. Because it is well known that the D7100 is much better in low light and DR. To summarise, we have a true high resolution camera (GH2), with very good low light, high Dynamic range and nearly moire/aliasing free.

In the end it is surely the best dslr below $ 3000 and you can add an external recorder to get high bitrate codec. The only downside is Fix pattern noise if you go deep into the shadows.
 
The BMCPC definitely will do RAW. It's a compressed RAW format which is why they can get it to SD Cards.
 
^ I still have to see that. Compressed DNG has very poor software support, and doesn't achieve big compression ratios (probably not enough for SD cards, except maybe in that new super-fast toshiba)
 
come on Pete .....that's a rumor from a reader on a rumor site . Hey 43rumors is great but .....
 
Its the only guy who is actually posting any sample video's from the BMCPC. It falls in line with what I was told by a BMC employee at NAB. Take that for what it's worth and sorry for the hijack of this thread to the OP.
