FS5: No audio on Sony PXW FS5 Mark ii using a Sennheiser ewG4 lavalier/lapel mic

So true!!
I rarely would be able to tell you the final score of a game, and sometimes not even who won or lost unless I am involved in post-game coverage and can see who is being interviewed.

Exactly. Especially if you had been on the tight camera where concentration was its highest. Returning to home neighbours would ask who won. "I think it was the team in blue?" I would reply. I used to get rubbished for that.

It's also kind of pathetic that I know nothing about some of the sports I'm covering.

Oh yes, the thread has gone way off the rails for sure!

Yes, I know. When I first shot hockey (Ice Hockey we call it) I knew little about the game. I also discovered on the tight camera that it was to become the hardest game I had to learn on how to follow accurately and keeping all in focus. Unlike ball sport, if someone punts you know the flight of the ball has basically a linear progression, up and across to where the kick was aimed so you could anticipate where the ball was going to come down. You could crash your shot straight into the anticipated ball receiver knowing the vision switcher would be following you and cutting to you as soon a the ball hit the catcher's hands. Hockey... no way. Trying to anticipate where the puck was going to end up after a slap up the rink after ricocheting off the boards was the hardest thing for me as it was never a consistent result. That was like crash out wide, try to pick the flight and ricochet of the puck then slam back in tight with accurate framing and focus. The better you became at it the more pressure you put on yourself knowing that the vision switcher was trusting you would nail the tight repo again and again and switch to you at the earliest possible time. Kept you on your toes. All good fun though.
