I've got a t2i on the way. Should actually be here tomorrow. :) I just got the 18-135 kit lens with it, but I also have an old Nikon series E 50mm manual with manual aperature. I'm a little new to lenses so my question is what do I need to adapt this lens to the t2i? I assume according this thread:

Thank I just need to get one of these and I'll be good to go.

Could someone verify this. Thanks.

yep thats basically it, yo may want to get one with the electrical contacts (i think thats for metering), they are usually only $7 or $8 more.

Should work great. I picked up an old school nikon 50mm 1.4 and love it.

The chipped one just adds focus confirmation (the little green light in the corner of the viewfinder lights up when in focus). I don't think it does anything meaningful in live view/video recording. Exposure works on adapters w/o chip although you obviously have to set the aperture with the ring on the Nikons/Nikkors I use a plain one bought on Ebay and it works flawlessly with an AIS 135/2.8, Series E 35/2.5 and 50/1.8.
