nikon primes on the 7d / 550d using adapter ring

Tried looking for a thread but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone have any experience using Nikon primes on a 5d/7d/550d using an adapter ring.
I'd really like to hear about any experiences using these lenses on this camera as i'm looking at getting a 550d body and have quite a few primes because i have a 35mm lens adapter.

test footage to peek at would be awesome!

just watch the collimation as u can focus past infinity and have fun

Works great. I use adapted lenses almost exclusively (though I only have one Nikon).

All of my best glass are manual Nikkors:

Has them sent off to RPLens where they re-dampened the focus, declicked the iris mechanisms, press fitted delrin focus gears onto them and put 80mm step-up fronts on them.

I use the novoflex adapters on them and they work great on my 7d/5d.

I have a full set of nikon ai primes 24mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 105mm, 180mm. You might want to take a look at pentax smc takumar glass, it's generally cheaper than nikon glass and of similar quality. My 50mm f/1.4 pentax has a nicer bokeh than my nikon. Russian glass is also very cheap and good.

i've ordered an AF confirm adapter through Ebay but haven't received it yet, once i do i'll post some footage and note which adapter it is. All my glass is Nikon and i'm kind of sad that I had to purchase a canon to get video like this...

No difference if you're shooting video on Canon bodies with adapters. However, you may find versions of the same lens in either AI or AI-S but one is older and one is newer and the optics may be different. The AI/AI-S mount doesn't matter but the optics might.

But it's expensive. I will consider it if Nikon fails 2010 as well.
