Nikon lens question

I just bought a Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and love it so I want to get more Nikon glass. My concern is some of the newer lenses might be like Canon's where the aperature is controlled via the camera instead of the lens. Something like the Nikkor AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G is what I was looking at but want to make sure I don't screw myself and not be able to control aperture.

BTW I have a 7D if that makes any differance.

So don't buy newer lenses. Any Nikon lens that does NOT autofocus will be just fine. Are you not able to see photos of lenses before you buy them? If so, then just look for the aperture ring.

Another big debate I'm going through right now is this: 1.8 or 1.4? It's a pretty big price jump between the two. I'm wondering if maybe I should just get the 1.8 and use that saved money on extra CF storage...what do you think?

Big price between used Nikon 1.4 and 1.8? They are about the same price as far as I can tell, both under $100. I don't know about the 1.8, but the 1.4 I have I like better than my Canon 50mm 1.8. I think I paid $70 for my Nikon 1.4

BTW I intend to by an adapter for each Nikon I buy and leave it on the lens.
