Can someone inform me if this particular lens will mount on EOS? As well, is this the same popular nikon lens that everyone is raving over?

Thanks.

I think it's a piece of junk! If it's not scratched I'll give you $50 for it :)

Cheers,
Pete

LOL.. Deal! Western Union my brother in nigeria and he'll ship it.. But you can actually profit by sending $500! With the current exchange rate I can get you the lens and give you $10,000 in return! Win Win!

@All - Cool.. thanks for replying.. A friend in UK is selling his camera and some lens'.. I picked that out of what he had and just wanted to be sure that it was one that was "good" for me.

I have that lens also and it is wonderful. It is a pre-AI Nikkor and according to the serial number it was manufactured from January of 1976 through 1977.

I use it on a Canon T2i with an adaptor, no problem. I don't use the Fotodiox adaptor, there are a lot out there. That lens sees in the dark. I love it.

It's pre-AI but it's considered to be a "modern" Nikon "K" type design, with multi-coated goodness. Some of the concerns about softness or vignetting when at f1.4 are alleviated with an APS-C, which doesn't use all of the "corners" of the glass, where a lot of the softness exists.

With a much earlier Nikkor-S (circa 1965), without any multi-coating, I have no real issues, except shooting straight into a light. Yours is better, frankly. I love mine, though, it always shoots great and it's kind of steampunk.

Don't install it on a modern Nikon DSLR or you'll damage it. However, with a Fotodiox or Kawa adapter, it works perfectly without modification on a Canon DSLR.
