Nikkor-Mount

I recommend the $70 Fotodiox - bit of a tighter fit, they call it the "no-play" adapter. I don't use any sort of electronic linking, doesn't seem necessary with lenses that have aperture rings.

it will beep when you've got perfect focus. (you still have to manually focus) This also allows you to control the aperture for G-lenses. If you're only using old lenses then I recommend Cinevate's adapter, it works well.

The $70 fotodiox has a nice feel and fits securely. Also, while you're at it, purchase their $20 ring, as you may find it suffices for most things.

on whatever you've pointed the focus point of your camera pointed at... Really? why you gotta be like that?
edit: need to type point one more time.

Let me expound on my question.

1. When I have a Canon EOS lens on my camera, I can set numerous focus points. I was unaware if this could be done with a lens that has no electronic communication with the camera like my current Nikon lenses. Further, I am interested to know which focus points (center only or one of my choosing) can get focus confirmation with the more expensive adapter.

If I can select focus points, and have this more expensive adapter tell me when I am in focus, then that is something I have a need for in 2 weeks, and I'll order one. However, if it can only confirm focus in the center of the frame, that won't help me, and I can keep my money in my pocket.

Does that make sense?

Perrone, i had one at one time however it was a cheaper model an the af confirm chip broke so i can no longer verify which autofocus points work.

The center one definitely works with all nikon lenses, i do not know if the others do, though I suspect that they would work as well. Essentially a little green light illuminates in the viewfinder and it beeps (in still photography mode) not much else happens in video mode that i noticed, i wish i could tell you more.

Thanks anyway. I don't care about video mode. I have a photoshoot coming up, but center confirm means I'd be reframing for nearly every shutter press. I'd rather not pay $80 for that. If other confirms worked, where I could make the eyes a focal point, I'd be convinced to do it.

+1 on the pro adapter. I have one for my Nikon lenses and a couple of the cheap ones from them for other lenses. The $70.00 adapter is worth the extra.
I'd stay away from the focus confirm ones. They can cause flickering.
