HorrorFest for Halloween would rule, even if it's informal. No prizes, no voting... just making a flick and showing it. That would be a blast.

Like, make whatever film you want but it's gotta feature a telephone book and the line "Do I look stupid to you?" That way the comedy guys could do comedy, the sci-fi guys could do sci-fi, etc...
... any appeal to an idea like that?

There will be more clarity to the rules and qualifications in the future.chris f said:if we did that could we write "Do I look stupid to you?" on a telephone book, take a picture of it and add it to the credits of our film?
Jack Daniel Stanley said:I did 72 hour thing that had criteria like that. Not hard to incorporate at all.
We had to have
CHARACTER NAMED: Kelly Blair, who was a sales person
A PROP THAT WAS: A magnifying glass.
LINE OF DIALOGUE: It's so crazy it just might work.
We had Kelly Blair be a prostitute and the cops in the piece used "sales person" as slang for prostitute.
Though I think 1 line of dialogue and prop is more than enough.

I think one thing we've definitely learned is: you can't please everyone. So maybe we'll try something, and lots of people will complain but others will participate (look how many complained about "wimpy" DramaFest, and look at how many excellent films turned out for DramaFest!) So I'm just tossing around whatever idea to see what might "stick"; I guess it's inevitable that we'll always have fests where someone or other doesn't agree or doesn't fit in; perhaps those people will just have to wait for the next fest? Rules can change for every fest so hopefully everyone will find a fest they can get jazzed about.
