next shipment?

I'm sure this has been talked to death, but I didn't see any real info scrolling through a few pages. Probably that means no real info exists, but...

Anyone have any good intel or at least supported guess on when the next batch of HVXs will be shipping? Actually, I'm not even sure if they're shipping in batches, or piecemeal. Any info appreciated, or link to another thread.

I can't find any answers either. I'm guessing Panasonic doesn't even know. Its one thing to wait, but not to be told how long to wait is what kills me. If they were to tell me that the camera needed more work and it could be a few months till it's finished and shipped, then I would respect that greatly. I want this camera, and I wanted the day it was reveled. But like a lot of other people out there, I've got clients with projects that aren't willing to wait it out. What to do? Maybe Mayday 2008...

From what my dealer told me, he is not getting any in until the end of February. And that might be less than 5. After that, Panasonic will ship another batch every two weeks.

Of course, four cameras can qualify as a batch.

I was told early March is what I should be looking at.

Panasonic sucks............ seriously...... sucks..... how long did it take for Canon and the JVC to hit the market? granted the JVC had problems, but from my understanding, it still ships w/ these same problems..... see...companies like Panasonic just expect ppl to hold out and buy their product, little do they know they are losing money because other ppl will buy comparable cameras that are already out......suck...

Quoting Rush from EVS...

"Panasonic just informed us today that they may be shipping to us on the 19th and 29th of January. They have no idea how many cameras on either load. If you have tech questions about the HVX, I will be happy to answer them, but please refrain from writing to ask me how many cameras we are receiving, since I don't know, and I can't guess. When they are in my warehouse, I will call and email each individual on the list and let him know his camera is ready. The camera won't go to anyone else if you don't respond right away, there is a generous grace period. If there is a credit card on file the camera will ship automatically."

This may be a case of: Do you want it fast OR do you want it correct?

Likely Panasonic pushed everything they had to get the first batch out without a major screw up (like JVC). The second and third batches may take longer than normal, because Panasonic is double checking everything to avoid getting bad product out there.

I feel the demand is greater for the Panasonic than JVC or Canon, so filling everyone's order will take longer than it did with JVC or Canon.

I just want information. As a potential consumer I would like to know from Panasonic what is going on. If I was informed, I, and many other people would feel fine. Its the lack of communication that bothers me.

This comment is in no way directed at you, rgdfilms, and a week ago I would have agreed with you but after observing what's happened on this board and over on dvinfo the past two days regarding the 'shoot-out', I tend to agree with Isaac.

That blog site is such propaganda. What BLOG website dapproves comments before they are posted??? A corporate blog that's who..

I tend to agree with Dan who is agreeing with Isaac who is probably agreeing with somebody else...and so on. :)

I tend to think that it's people in general that suck and not just a corporate logo. Of course, not people that agree with me or who I'm agreeing with. :)

I agree with all those that disagree to agree with the ones that are selling agreed upon disagreements.

Prodigi, was that an email from EVS? I didn't get that one, and in theory I'm in a not-quite-horrible position on the waiting list!

No, Doug that was just a post I put down last night. I didn't want to send a mass email until I hear the "number" that Panny is shipping on the 19th and 29th. Then I'll send it, when I'm sure.

Hey Doug,
If you get one before me I totally going to "stock" you to play with it. (wait that didn't sound right...) Are you bunnies just ordering one?

By the way Rush, thanks for all of the hard work! (kiss, kiss) Can you knock a digit off of my number?

I now kindly offer you today's courtesy DVX spelling tutorial:

To "stalk" someone is to follow or observe (a person) persistently, especially out of obsession or derangement.

"Stock" is the total merchandise kept on hand by a merchant, commercial establishment, warehouse, or manufacturer.

As in, "sorry guys, Panasonic has shipped about three cameras so far, and it looks like it will be around 2008 before we have any more in stock."

That's all, carry on...

i'm gonna start stocking panasonic reps if they don't stalk up soon on hvx200's. they won't be able to hide, not even if they go up a bean stock. and i'm not being arrogant or stalk up about it, just being honest.

Thanks Rush... I was hoping I'd get ours in time to consider it a birthday present (one that cost me a lot of money), but we'll keep waiting...

Hey, Haakon, how come you never go after "should of" and "would of"?
