Newegg.com???

The price I paid on newegg for a DVX100B, 3 year extended warranty, and next day shipping was cheaper than what I would pay from B&H. To hell with a factory warranty. I worked in the electronics services field for a little over 9 months and in my experience aftermarket warranties were 98% better than a factory warranty.

We used to have to ship out cameras, camcorders, computers, tv's, tons of things like that to both manufacturers and aftermarket warranty service centers and almost every time the manufacturer took longer and we had more redo's be sent back to manufacturer's than we did to third party warranty service centers.

but that's just been my experience. I'm sure others will disagree.

My experience with Newegg:

I bought two DVX100B from them in September and October 2007 respectively and I have the bonus softwares (HD Instant and Magic Bullet) + our own Barry's DVX book + DVD. Both camera's are also under warranty for one full year. I called Panasonic (US) directly at New Jersey and they confirmed Newegg's authorized dealership. From what Barry said, I am not sure if the rep I spoke with gave me wrong information. It was important that I get this information from the source before shelling out 5K on the two cameras.

That has been my experience with Newegg and No regrets with my purchases to date.

I've got to say that make me feel pretty good about buying from them. I'm going to look on ebay for about another week or so, and if nothing good comes up I'm getting the 100B on newegg it looks like.

Hey guys - my first post here. I'm looking forward to hassling you all with my newbie DVX questions :)

I ordered my 100b from Newegg as well. I live about 10 blocks away from B&H, but they are charging $2600 + $200 sales tax. Buying from Newegg was effectively about a 15% discount for me, which was just too good to pass up. I should have the camera in my hands this week, so I'll let you guys know if they still ship it with Barry's book and Magic Bullet.

I have to say, though, spending 20 minutes talking to a video sales rep at B&H was the best DVX investment I've made so far. They were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful even though it was clear that I got my camera online somewhere else. Had some really useful discussions with them about accessories like bags, shotguns mics and the like.

Yeah man let me know if they ship it with the barry's book and magic bullet. Also, what did the b and h guy say? I'm curious what he said about mics and bags and such for this camera...

Hi mischiefman05 - you will get your Camera within a week or 10 days at the latest. The Barry book, HD Instant and Magic Bullet softwares will not be in the box, but there will be a rebate form with instructions for getting these freebies. Your purchase and any other purchase made before Dec ending 2007 will still be eligible to receive these if purchased from Newegg and/or any other authorized dealer in the US. You will love your DVX when it arrives.

Glad to hear it, sounds good. I'm going to look around on ebay for a few more good deals, and if nothing works, then I'm going to get it off newegg...

I lost the post where someone said that they called Panasonic and were told that Newegg is an authorized dealer. If so, that is nice to hear.

Can you please verify that you were told this by Panasonic themselves?

I have never heard of anyone ever getting anything other than an authorized product from Newegg, but have always been under the impression that they were not an authorized dealer....

Later,
Jason

I know several people who ordered 100b's from Newegg last year and had no problems receiving rebates, the bonus software or Barry's book/DVD. I use Newegg for all my computer parts as well, and they are one of the best online retailers for both customer service and reliability.

For those of you who bought at Newegg. Do you get ALL the same accessories (i.e. battery, charger, etc)?
Just like crazyberns said, you get everything - battery, cables, mic holder (no external microphone), remote control, battery charger, camera manual, rebate form for Barry's DVX book, Magic bullet and Instant HD.

I got my camera Monday and mailed my rebate in Wednesday. hopefully I'll hear back from them soon. Even if I don't get the software and the book it's no big deal. Sure it would be nice to get the book but thats why we have dvxuser.com lol. I'll keep you guys updated.

Ohh and as to speak for NewEgg customer service, they rock. My bank is dumb and put a one day hold on the check I deposited (even though the check was issued by the damn bank) and I didn't know until I got the notification from NewEgg. Called em up, got it taken care of, got everything verified and boom, ready to rock. Plus 500points to NewEgg!

The B&H guy recommended the Kata bag, though I'm trying to figure out whether I can fit the DVX into the small one (the Kata 191) or not.

He also recommended the Rode NTG-1 shotgun mic kit, which comes with the mic itself, an XLR cable, and a shockmount for $250. I picked that up yesterday, though haven't gotten a chance to play with it yet.

I got my DVX from Newegg today - everything looks good: warranty, all accessories, and the rebate form for the DVX book and Magic Bullet. Looking forward to my first shoot this weekend...

be sure you go to panasonics website and get the newest rebate form. i think the one that came in the box was the older one as the one on the panny website includes a DVD as well.

Also bought from Newegg.com

Also bought from Newegg.com

I bought my DVX100B from NewEgg.com earlier this month and it arrived promptly, everything was there, it's a real USA/Canada model (both warranty cards), and instead of mailing in the rebate form I went to the website printed on the form and they must have processed it the same day because I got the DVXUser book, DVD, and Magic Bullet stuff just a few days later!

NewEgg is for real. My entire PC was put together from their components and a lot of sage advice from their reviews. I always check to see if they carry something I'm about to buy - usually it's a lower price with reasonable shipping. As for the whole "authorized dealer" thing, when buying online, if I get the real product with a factory warranty, the *product* meets my needs... and as for NewEgg.com, they haven't let me down yet.

<OT> By the way, this is my first post here - it was thanks  to the posts and articles here on DVXUser.com that I decided to buy the DVX100B instead of the popular little HD cams. Main reasons: no need for HD for my web (and some day DVD) delivery for several years, but I DO need the best picture, and I really buy into the need to use manual settings as much as possible (although some auto functions seem necessary for video home tours). </OT>

I just got a DVX100B from NewEgg, and this is my first post on the forum. I've had only great experiences with them in the past, and I can confirm that US/PR/Canada warranty cards and the book offer were included in the box, although I haven't tried to register the unit yet.

From peeking at the covered-up shipping labels on the box, it looks like NewEgg got the unit from the big distributor ICG/Electrograph in Texas, which received it directly from Matsushita in Japan.

P.S. That's M-a-t-s-u-s-h-i-t-a, and it's not a cussword.
