T2i new user dumb question

I know it's capable but I can't find it....

Movie mode, I can adjust the shutter, I can adjust the gain (ISO) but I cant figure out how to adjust the apature. Seems to be stuck at 5.6.

I saw a post here a couple weeks ago that someone responded with this but I can't find it.

Any help?

the thumbwheel on the back adjusts the aperature. If you have a zoom lens that varies its aperature (such as the kit lens), at the end of the zoom you may not be able to go below 5.6

I must be a little slow. (I do have the kit lens.)
The thumbwheel adjusts the shutter speed on mine? If I zoom it is at 5.6, If I go wide, it opens to 3.5 automatically (based on the zoom) I thought this cam was full manual in video mode???
i.e. I can changes the brightness with the ISO (or the shutter speed) but I would like to be able to change the apeture in video mode. Just not doable with the kit lens?
I would like to have the shutter stay at 60 (when shooting 30p) and also have the ISO stay at what I select. (rather than auto)

We're talking t2i right?

You need to hold down the Av button on the back of the camera and turn the wheel near the shutter button in order to adjust the aperture.

Now that his noob question is out of the way I have another noob question. So is the only way to do manual WB to take a still photo and use that to tell the camera what the conditions are???

Only played with the T2i for a few minutes, but also make sure you're in manual mode. Just turning the dial to the movie camera icon won't do it. You then have to go to the menu and switch it to manual mode.

I believe so. Also take a picture of something that is white. There might be a republican standing nearby which would be handy. :-) JUST KIDDING!

You might also want to pick up some warm balance cards. All of a sudden your people will look like they're in a movie.

Not to sound too crass but this stuff in like on page 5 of the manual. This is like the 4th time I've seen this asked.
