I cant bring back contrast without clipping bright areas, only way to preserve whole dynamic range is to crush the dark range until darkest colour would be black not gray. With neutral and contrast -4 i can bring back contrast without clipping bright areas,i just move gamma curve and bend it down then i see how details on faces starts to appear but this trick doesnt work with cinestyle, whole picture is still washed out and non detailed and its just darker.

Your uploaded image is broken.
This is whole DR of cinestyle and neutral from pure black to pure white :

Theres a bit better whites roloff in cinestyle but at the price of details cause eveything is more even, some small details dont pop up like .
There are different ways to correct cinestyle and bring back pure blacks but it depends on situation and if theres something blownout in the frame.
About the FPN problem, can you upload a picture to show it?

I may have time to do this tomorrow. I will see how it goes.If anyone would like to put together a short comparison of cinestyle vs neutral, that would be great for test fest. upload it and we'll show it in the theater....http://wp.mediahalo.com/test-fest/

I'd call that an upside. On an H.264 codec, dark areas or areas of little motion would have a lower bitrate. A higher bitrate means more information is successfully being captured. I fail to see how that's a bad thing.WOW! I love this. I only have one question. I shot for like 1 minute 20 sec...and the file turned out to be almost 500mb. Pretty huge if you ask me. Is this the downside to this preset?
I just tested, you're rightthe bitrate is much higher
EDIT: i'm not that sure
no the bitrate is the same. you probably just had more/less detail in the clips you're comparing
