New Shotgun Mic for GH1/GH2 - the one that Philip Bloom touted?

A while back Philip Bloom reviewed the GH2 and mentioned a new mic which he would be revealed soon - and which he said would be ideal for DSLRs.

Any idea what mic he was talking about? I'd love to have something like the Rode videomic without the bulk.

I think he has. Philip Bloom has been showing the thing at meet ups and seminars since November.
 
Seeing as I appear to have missed all the meet-ups and seminars, would someone care to enlighten me? Most appreciative!

Mr.Bloom said, "in a crazy loud environment with my GH2 and it performed spectacularly. An on camera shotgun had no right to sound as good as this. With it’s +20db sound option this has strong powerful sound!"

It can sit on a hot shoe or a cold shoe feeding input to GH2. If sound quality is a huge improvement over GH2's built-in, I definitely want this one. But no live audio monitoring...
 
I'm sure early adapters will review it thoroughly. If it works great, that's a good news to run-and-gun style folks. I'm finding more about the dual system recording... and it does complicate the post-processing workflow.
