If Nikon wakes up and smells the coffee, they could
Nikon, go for this market, there is a lot of money and market share to be gained.
Ok I will.

I've been thinking the same thing for a few years. The target is so simple to see, yet these people just don't get it. Oh well...
Don't forget the recording format. It would have to be something more trusted. Even if it was licensed from someone else.
I'd be in line for that and I wouldn't think twice about it.
Ok I will.

Nikon can use the open source DNG RAW format. Nikon is going to have a product announcment this month entitled "BIG"announcement during WPPI in 2009. Who knows what it is going to be.... maybe a medium format camera ?
Ikonoskop is very close to reaching the holy grail with their A-cam dII. I wish Ikonoskop can offer a CCD camera with 35mm sensor instead of o2/3".
If we need to count on the japanesse giving us a "red replacement", it is going to be from Sony using their alpha line slr lenses. Then again, they have the f900 , f23 and f35 to protect. I am a strong feeling that even after tomorrow, the RED ONE is the only camera offering an affordable real s35mm video camera to us poor indie filmmakers.
I don't even care about full frame. I would be happy with a DX size sensor, great audio, great compression and filmmaker friendly ergonomics.
DX sensor size = 24x16mm
super35 frame size= 24.9x18.7
Dunno what will happen. But either way. It's only a camera. My guess is nothing will come of it until 2010.
