New HD Timelapse

I haven't tired it in QT Pro, so I'm not sure about that. Motion just gives me more controll over the clips. To make them 16x9 I have to zoom in on the frames.

you got a good point there drew.
I am shooting with a 1dsmark2, so the max size is 4k. Which my computer cannot handle! Ok I will try to make a test fooatge - pano and normal - SD height.

I shoot all of my frames in medium jpeg and then process them into a DVCPro HD 720p 24P file. But even working with the frames that big it can sometimes take a little while to get them done processing.

thats the same problem i run into when doing lapse's. i'm on a 5d and the files can get back. the files can be so big that my lapses dont run smoothly bc the camera needs more time bc the file size is so big....

or is that because my card is slow?

hmm?

love your work deadfish.... can u upload some pics of your motion rig, and is this all on the HVX?

just uploaded the .mov file - it's not full rez, but i think better quality.

For the panorama footage I will upload it later.
I will snap a photo of the rig tommorrow when I am in production for a project for local TV here in Singapore. Going to attempt stop motion/timelapse.

sorry mon - It's shot using a canon 1ds mark2 - still camera. no HVX

oh holy lord i just figured out how to do the 2FPS trick..... Oh my God this is AWSOME.
The timelapse of LA was SUPER SWEET and made me want to learn the trick......

Only the cloud stuff is done with the HVX 2fps hack. All the other stuff is done with a 20D still camera.

That was some nice looking timelapse. I've just never really gottin into the whole MC rig for timelapse. But hey that's just the way I do things. I like to think of it as more of a photo that has life inside of it. When the camera moves that kind of breaks that effect for me. Maybe one of these days I might have a shot that I want to use some kind of MC rig with...but not now.

I believe ive seen this same timelapse before....what did you add and what did you take out?....I think i remember there being LAX shots in there somewhere....where it looked there was a missle attack going on....

Yeah we're not all about MC timelapses although they are popular. We've also found that camera movement can distract from the timelapse subject in many cases. Definitely have to use MC timelapse techiques carefully.

I like you comment about timelapses being 'a photo that has life inside of it."

Thanks for the feedback.
