New HD Timelapse

Awesome, man! We'll have to hang out some time and shoot some timelapses. It would be cool to exchange techniques. I'm really getting serious about timelapse and am planning to shoot a 3-minute short film this summer.

I loved the opening shot of the city the best.
 
Loved the first shot too, nice greens in the night stuff. What was that track? Real nice. it took me a while to see the birds on the wires. looked pretty smooth, is that 1 frame every 2secs? Same with the last shot, clouds are pretty slow, and the trees don't figit.
 
Holy S%*t! I've never seen the 405 moving so fast. Come to think of it I've never seen the 405 moving.

Dogcat, the track is Brian Eno. It was the song used at the end of "28 Days Later". The HVX cloud stuff was 2fps and then sped up in FCP. One of these days I'm going to try out the intervalometer function in the HVX.

Majormorgan, the cameras I used were the Canon 20D and the HVX200. The 20D was all the night time stuff and the HVX was all the daylight shots. That's all I can really say. Everyone always asks what my settings are but you should just go out and see what works for you. Its just the best way to learn. Of course I'm just talking about the 20D footage. The HVX stuff has already been talked about in length about how to do timelapse. But the HVX frame settings were 720p 2fps and I just used one of the present WBs.

Ozduc, I wish the 405 would move that fast. That has to be one of the worst freeways I've ever been on.
 
Do you mean you were using the 2fps hack? Ya I'm surprised you are not using the intervalometer. Would like to see more hvx footy.

ive been working so hard on trying to get my timelapse to even come close to yours.. I keep getting sub-par results. weather it be the traffic is too busy so the exposure on my 5d must be open longer, or something else. you should sell your secrets for $5 via paypal :):)
 
Yeah I'm using the 2fps hack. I'll try out the intervalometer function for the next set of HVX clips.

dude I tripped out so much on that footage my mom wants to sue you. Joking aside, i appreciate those angles you captured in the night scenes. I almost get scared thinking about you huddled by the camera. Do you go out alone, or bring a party along?
